As a tribute to Carroll Shelby, the creator of Shelby Cobra racing sports cars during the 60’s, ford has created a special, Mustang Shelby GT 500 Cobra among their regular GT 500 stock for 2013, sporting a Ford-Racing supercharged 4.0 liter Whipple supercharger fitted atop of a 5.8 liter V-8 engine capable of 850 horsepower. Other features include a Shelby American wide-body kit, 13-inch wide rear wheels and 345 section high-performance tires, Shelby Wilwood brakes, custom 20×13 rear and 20×10 front wheels, and the iconic guardsmen blue paintjob with Wimbledon white stripes from the 60’s. Unfortunately, this special edition Cobra is limited to one and is for charity. However, the 2013 Mustang Shelby GT 500 vehicles are available starting around $55,000. Check them out.
