AD HOC YAMAHA XJ650

Published By

After laying eyes on their off-road worthy 1989 Yamaha SR250 Motorcycle previously, AD HOC Cafe Racers has been on our radar ever since. One of their latest custom motorcycles, a 1984 XJ650, was rescued by one of their customers from a decaying shed, and brought in for a custom restoration.

AD HOC outfitted the XJ650 with smaller wheels and Metzeler Marathon tires to give it a lower stance, detabbed and rebuilt the frame, and gave it a sandblast and a matte chrome finish. Additional customizations include giving the 653cc motor a tune-up, Hitachie CV carburetors, new pod filters, a Sanglas 400Y gas tank with a green and cream paint scheme, AD HOC bars, a specially stitched nappa leather seat, and laser-cut steel logos. Check out AD HOC Cafe Racers for more info on the build.
