Vanderhall Edison²

Somewhere between motorcycle and car lies the Vanderhall three wheelers. In fact, depending where you live, you will or won’t have to have a motorcycle licence to drive one. This newest release, the Edison2, is the company’s third, and this one’s all electric.

Looking like a shinier, darker version of a 1950s F1 racer, the Edison² is ready to crank out 180 horsepower and 240 foot-pounds of torque instantaneously, thanks to the twin front electric motors. You’ll go from zero to 60 in about four seconds—with a top speed of 105 miles per hour—and the 30 kilowatt hour lithium ion battery lets you travel an estimated of 200 miles on a charge.

Hand-built in Provo, Utah using almost entirely American-sourced components, this open air roadster is now taking reservations and plans to ship in the second quarter of this year. Car? Motorcycle? Vanderhall figures you’ll have enough fun driving one you won’t stop to care.
