1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport

Say you were given a time machine that you could use to pluck a single car from the past and plop it into your garage. For some people, that car would be a cranberry red 1970 Chevy Chevelle — and those people are in luck. Classic Car Studio out of Saint Louis, Missouri has managed to obtain an example of this-nearly fifty year old car that shows just over 50,000 miles on its odo and has all of the original floorboards and sheet metal (save for the driver’s side front fender).

While Classic Car Studio didn’t get ahold of a time machine, they did find a car that spent a good portion of its life in stasis. In storage from 1987 to 2007, the car avoided the rust, miles, and damage it might have accumulated otherwise. After its time in storage, the Chevelle underwent a full, frame-off restoration and was returned to its original red-over-red color combination and mechanical specifications.

It’s got a Chevrolet 396 engine putting out 390 horsepower with GM’s turbo-hydramatic transmission. It’s got a restored 8-track. It’s got new glass, new paint, new upholstery and headliner. And to get it into your garage you don’t have to mess with theoretical physics or grandfather paradoxes, you just have to hand Classic Car Studio about $80,000.
