1972 Nike Moon Shoe

Stadium Goods, the online rare and high-end sneaker marketplace (and store in NYC), has rounded up the best of their Trophy Case shoes and put them up for auction at Sotheby’s. The Stadium Goods Ultimate Sneaker Collection Online was made up of 41 lots, with some lots including multiple shoes, but most just a single pair of some of the rarest, most coveted, highest demand sneakers on the planet.

Canadian entrepreneur and investor Miles Nadal recently purchased 99 of the 100 pairs of collectibles for $850,000, leaving only the collection’s priciest offering. The “Moon Shoe” is a hand cobbled running shoe made by Nike for the 1972 Olympic Trials using the brand’s first innovation, the waffle sole. Just 12 pairs were ever made and the one on auction is the only unworn, deadstock pair in existence.

The auction ends July 23 so if you need another pair of sneakers to round out your rare kicks collection, scrape together your $80k now.
