1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS

Any vintage Ferrari featuring a Pininfarina designed body will always catch the eye, but not all of them age gracefully over their lifespan. This particular 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS is special.

Owned by a single family, the original buyer was a race car driver and collector. The son of that driver now retains ownership while keeping meticulous service records for the car. With only 11,000 miles on the odometer, one might say this beautiful car is barely broken in.

Featuring a beautiful Argento Auteuil Metallizzato exterior finish over a blue leather interior, this is not a typical Dino. This one stands out from the crowd of red, yellow or white examples.

Once behind the wheel, the experience is 100% Dino thanks to the mid-mounted 2.4L V6 engine shifting through a 5-speed manual transaxle. A double wishbone suspension with anti-roll bars in both the front and rear keep cornering precise as well as fun. Vacuum-assisted ventilated disc brakes provide plenty of stopping power.

Other notable features include a removable black targa panel, Blaupunkt AM/FM radio and Cromodora wheels. Stay cool with the power windows or the A/C system, your choice.

Some of the service history includes rebuilt carburetors in 1996 as well as cooling and fuel system maintenance in 2014. A handwritten service log comes with this gorgeous 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS.

As expected with any car this old, there are some signs of character. For example, installation of an antenna in 1975 along with the radio set this ‘73 apart from others. Bring a Trailer provides plenty of documentation for prospective buyers.

If interested collectors fail to act fast, they will miss the chance to wrap their hands around the leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel. If you want to own and drive Ferrari Dino chassis number 05514, your time is running out.
