Throughout their history, every Ferrari ever built symbolizes a combination of speed, luxury, and wealth. Their legacy as the oldest and most successful Formula One racing team continues to inspire every road car Ferrari unveils to this day. The 2020 F8 Spider passes the torch of Ferrari into the future of aerodynamic design and functionality.
When Ferrari decides to build a new Spider, they put a lot of emphasis on the car’s top. The style, fit, and design must be as functional as they are aerodynamic. Through visionary design and precision engineering, Ferrari introduces a Retractable Hard Top (RHT) that can be stowed on top of the car’s V8 engine, located behind the driver and passenger seats. This RHT is so advanced in design that it can fully deploy or retract in only 14 seconds at speeds up to 45 km/h (27 mph).
Combined with the Ferrari F8 Spider’s advanced aerodynamic design, the performance engineering sets a standard of its own. The turbo-charged V8 of the F8 is capable of creating 720 cv of power at 8000 rpm without any turbo lag. Make no mistake about it, this is the most powerful V8 ever to be mounted in a non-special series Ferrari. At an astonishing 185 cv/l, this 3.9 L turbo V8 is built to move. Perhaps the most impressive feat the F8 pulls off is the ability to get from 0-100 kmh (0-62 mph) in only 2.9 seconds while being capable of reaching a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph).
Every Ferrari gets noticed. From their high revving redlines to their perfectly tuned exhaust notes, Ferrari has perfected their craft while constantly looking for ways to make the next design better. The 2020 Ferrari F8 Spider is certainly pushing the boundaries of aerodynamics to new heights while boasting the performance to back it up. The evolution of the Spider is here to stay.
