AMG has been tuning and building race-ready Mercedes for fifty years, and for the last fourteen years, they’ve been doing it as the official performance division of MB. Their newest output, the Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO is a limited edition offering (coming out alongside the Mercedes-AMG GT, the GTC and the GT R) is promising to be as close to a motor racing car as a production model can get.
While it’s the same engine as the GT R, putting out 577 horsepower at 6,250 rpm, changes to the weight and aerodynamics have pushed the PRO to new feats of super speed. Carbon fiber body parts and ceramic composite braking system helped shave off pounds, while the redesigned front apron and spoiler lip on the rear spoiler get the air flowing around and down to keep the PRO going faster with control.
And yes, in addition to all that race track upgrading, they also made sure it looks like it belongs on a track with a lowered-center, carbon fiber roof, plus clear-coated carbon fiber front splitter, rear spoiler, diffuser and side mirrors. The light green racing stripes only comes paired with the selenite gray paint. Other colors will get the slightly toned down matte grey stripes (though that’ll be the only toned down thing about it). – Learn More
