From the crisp wing of the brisk autumn wind to the drifting snow of mountain terrain, you need to be able to count on your truck in any driving conditions. Continuing a stellar reputation for dependability, the 2022 Toyota Tundra stands ready to deliver, fearless, as usual.
Toyota didn’t just slap the reputable Tundra name on a re-tweaked design, this is the most powerful and technologically advanced version of the pickup truck yet.
For starters, there are two engine options to choose from. Sure, you can go with the standard 3.5L twin-turbo V6 engine producing 389 horsepower with 479 pound-feet of torque. Not a bad choice.
Or you can upgrade to the i-Force Max hybrid 3.5L twin-turbo V6 powertrain producing 437 hp with an insane 583 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid powertrain uses a special bell-housing electric motor system for the e-juice.
On one hand, the combustible engine displacement is actually 3,455 cc. The unspoken rules of the automotive industry suggest that an automaker rounds down. For marketing purposes, some companies choose to round up. Toyota falls into that category. It doesn’t really matter but some purists might suggest this is a 3.4L engine.
As for the other hand, that is a lot of power and torque from a hybrid twin turbo V6. With select configurations, the 2022 Tundra can achieve a 12,000-pound towing capacity. From a V6. That is impressive. A 10-speed automatic transmission keeps you cruising.
This is now the third-generation of production for Toyota’s Tundra. Several of the previous generations saw trucks reaching the million-mile mark. Toyota could have mailed it in with the newest Tundra but they got right back to work instead.
New for the 2022 model year, the Tundra now features a redesigned high-strength boxed, steel-ladder frame. More rigidity means more durability. There is also an all-new aluminum reinforced composite truck bed and a redesigned multi-link rear suspension.
Of course, in case you hadn’t noticed, the styling is new for the third-generation installment of the Tundra as well. Toyota redesigned the Tundra completely, from head to toe.
Inside the 2022 Tundra, it is comfortable and convenient. You have plenty of Toyota’s fantastic Safety Sense driving-assists at your disposal. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, as they should at this point. That’s not the point, you definitely notice when they are missing from a vehicle.
There are also optional luxuries such as a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, or even a panoramic roof available. Toyota also offers a variety of truck bed lengths for your convenience, choose from a 5.5-foot, 6.5-foot, or 8.1-foot bed.
Expect to see the 2022 Toyota Tundra rolling off lots just in time for the holidays around December of 2021. First one to a million miles will definitely have bragging rights, so you might as well get started as soon as possible.
