The 2023 Corvette takes the necessity for such a handle to a whole new level. Get ready to pull some serious Gs as a passenger, if you dare.
This engine is nasty. It features dual overhead camshafts while being capable of revving all the way up to 8,600 rpm. Who doesn’t want to hear that?
The engine produces 670 hp at 8,400 rpm. Hearing it roar with peak power should be a treat every single time. It also produces 460 pound-feet of torque at 6,300 rpm. The fact that it produces so much power without forced induction is insane. Keep in mind the previous generation Z06 had a supercharger, this one doesn’t even need one.
Of course, it is track-tuned so it has a superb suspension system. The 2023 Z06 can achieve 1.22 G of lateral g-force. That should start making you think about the aforementioned handle again. Luckily, Chevy gave the new Z06 plenty of stopping power should things get out of hand.
In fact, you can even order carbon ceramic brakes right from the factory. It really is the best way to go in a car like this. The standard six-piston front braking calipers and the four-piston rear braking calipers will take care of the rest.
If you are really serious about your track performance, Chevrolet now offers a Z07 package as well. The Z07 features carbon ceramic brakes with upgraded Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. You can even shed 41 pounds from the vehicle’s curb weight by electing for the carbon-fiber wheel option.
Obviously the aerodynamics of the 2023 Corvette’s sculpted body are exceptional. You will glide through the wind, rolling on the surface with almost no feeling of resistance. It is amazing.
