Airbnb Airship002 Aluminum Pod

We conducted a quick and wildly unscientific poll to learn that about 95% of adults need to take a vacation this year. To that end, we’ve done some of the tough work and found the place you should absolutely go. Sitting on a secluded patch of land in Scotland, just a few paces off the shore of the Sound of Mull, the AirShip 2 on Airbnb is an architect-designed aluminum pod that has everything an overworked human requires to de-stress like a winner.

Porthole windows and a retro-chic design aesthetic combine with natural surroundings and hikes in the woods to create a sort of funky Scottish place of refuge for the weary. The wood-burning stove and tartan blankets will take the chill off of a Scottish evening (a nip of good Scotch will help with that too) and despite being made of aluminum and windows, the insulated pod regulates its temp better than you’d expect. A small kitchenette has what you need to cook simple meals (hot plate, microwave, toaster, kettle) and the bathroom comes complete with a shower.

There’s room enough for two people in a bed that looks out onto the sound through floor-to-ceiling windows. Add in a few different areas to lounge — from the deck to the built-in couch to the oversized armchairs — and this tiny, artistic cabin is looking more and more like a place you’ll never want to leave.
