Spanish motorcycle company Bultaco announced their return to the market last year after a nearly 30 year hiatus. their latest, however, is hardly a motorcycle at all. Instead, utilizing a scaled-down version of their existing electric powertrain technology, Bultaco has released an Electric Off-Road Bicycle, or “moto bike” as the company describes it.
With a rear wheel-mounted 2-kW motor and a downtube-secured 1.3-kWh lithium-ion battery powering the bike along with three different riding modes, the new electric bicycle delivers up to 2,000 watts of power, a possible 50 miles of electric-assisted pedaling, and a top speed near 37 MPH.
