Ducati is saying happy birthday the most important bike in its history with a limited edition version of its current champ. The Ducati Panigale V4 25° Anniversario 916 celebrates the Ducati 916, first released in 1994 and which promptly went on to rack up not just the praise of every bike aficionado out there, but also first place wins in 120 races and four Superbike World Championships. It redefined the superbike and gets called the most beautiful superbike ever, so a fitting birthday celebration seems in order.
Built on the Panigale V4 S, with racing content upgrades borrowed from the Panigale V4 R, the limited edition anniversary bike will churn out 214 horsepower from its 1,103 cc engine along with 91.5 foot-pounds of torque — an increase on all fronts from the original 916. The livery celebrates the 916’s stellar reputation with front and faring number plate graphics bearing the number 1, as in, first place winner of races all over the dang place.
With Marchesini racing wheels, Akrapovič titanium exhaust, and a dry clutch, the anniversary bike is loaded with a suite of special equipment and comes with a laser-engraved ID number and certificate of authenticity proving you were one of just 500 people who got to celebrate the 916’s twenty-fifth birthday the right way.
