East Coast Defender Project Blackout

Published By

There’s no limit to what Orlando-based shop East Coast Defender can do with a used Land Rover Defender and a shop full of tools. And it appears they have no plans of letting up any time soon.

Their latest build is called Project Blackout — a murdered-out Defender outfitted with a 326 horsepower Chevrolet LC9 V8 engine. That’s just the tip of the iceberg for this off-road gem, however. This is the brand’s first build to offer a tire pressure monitoring system — an important yet often forgotten feature, especially when you’re miles astray from the beaten path.

Great looks aside, the blacked-out Defender has been outfitted with the works — including a Borla exhaust, EBC Performance brakes, Moal Bomber gauges, a Kenwood Infotainment system with a backup camera, GPS and Apple CarPlay, and LED lighting throughout the design.
