An RV is too expensive. A tent on the ground is too rough. The Goldilocks choice is a teardrop trailer. Low profile and easy to tow, teardrops give you a place to sleep and a place to make food — just about all you need when you adventure beyond the reach of city lights. Escapod has been building teardrop trailers since 2015 out of their shop in Wanship, Utah using 2”x 2” USA steel and lightweight aluminum exteriors.

They’ve got two base models — the Dreamscape for weekends away and the TOPO for backcountry, off-road, expedition-style trips. Both models are 4 season insulated, come with a five inch thick memory foam queen mattress (that will feel very unlike sleeping on the ground), and both have a galley in the back for food prep and storage. The Dreamscape can be towed behind most 4-cylinder vehicles. The TOPO will go wherever your Jeep can thanks to larger wheels and upgraded suspension. Learn more at Escapod.
