Indian Motorcycles FTR1200

Sixty-three years is a long time. That’s how long Indian Motorcycles stayed away from flat track racing. Then in 2016, Indian released the Scout FTR750 and returned to the dirt ovals. By the end of the 2017 flat track racing season, Indian’s three-man racing team, aptly called the Wrecking Crew, swept the American Flat Track point standings, taking first, second and third — all riding the FTR750. That’s not a shabby comeback.

To celebrate, Indian debuted a one-off custom bike called the Scout FTR 1200 Custom at the 2017 EICMA. Now, to answer the chorus of bikers who really want a version of the bike for themselves, Indian has announced production of the FTR1200. And you don’t have to have a flat track in your backyard to ride it. Street legal and drawing inspiration from the track-dominating FTR750 and the custom prototype bike that followed, the FTR1200 “street tracker” will be powered by a new V-twin and carry that flat tracker style.

You can’t see it yet… But you can win it. Release date isn’t set, but they plan to have the bikes out for sale in 2019. If you’re feeling lucky, head to Indian’s website and enter for a chance to win one of the first bikes to come off the line. Learn more at Indian Motorcycles.
