The James Brand Redstone Knife

Published By

Professional rock climber Savannah Cummins keeps three things at the top of her pack: lip balm, a lighter, and a small pocket knife. Together with The James Brand, the rock climber landed upon the ideal small scale/big utility knife. Dubbed the Redstone, it’s a two and a half-inch blade designed to be used while climbing, hiking, or otherwise exploring the world around you.

Small enough that you can keep it with you always and equipped with an easy, one-handed deployment and closure, the Redstone also features a unique handle built from injection-molded “holds”—not unlike the holds a rock climber reaches for on a face climb. Those two islands allow for a wicked sure grip but they also gave the designers a little room to play with color, as seen in the coral and turquoise version. Those preferring black-out gear won’t get the same amount of flashy style, but you will get one reliable, go-everywhere knife.
