Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 Concept

Published By

About a year ago, Jeep unveiled the Wrangler Magneto Concept and it made waves in the industry. Fast forward to today and Jeep is already working on several improvements to that concept, so many that they made an entirely new version of the Magneto. Introducing the Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 Concept, the revolutionary 4×4 EV of the future.

One of the things that made the original Magneto Concept so appealing was the manual transmission. That is still here on the Magneto 2.0 Concept, giving three-pedal enthusiasts everywhere an EV to drool over.

Powered by an axial flux electric motor that can operate up to 5,250 rpm, the Wrangler Magneto 2.0 looks to conquer both on and off the road. A six-speed manual transmission puts you in complete control of all that torque and power.

Jeep uses a total of four lithium-ion battery packs placed throughout the chassis for weight balance. These battery packs combine for a total of 70 kW/h throughout the 800-volt system. That’s a lot of juice.

There is also a power inverter from race cars. This converts DC power into AC power for the advanced e-motor design. The end result is the kind of performance where you are going to want to make sure you are buckled in and holding on whenever the driver accelerates.

That’s because the Magneto 2.0 delivers 625 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels. The Wrangler Magneto 2.0 is capable of going from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only two seconds. This EV can deliver peak amperage, which is 600 amps, for up to 10 seconds.

Ground clearance for rock crawling is provided by a three-inch lift kit. Jeep gives the Magneto 2.0 massive 40-inch tires sitting on dubs, or 20-inch wheels. The Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 Concept is going to be at the very top of several wishlists if it ever sees production.

Even if the Magneto 2.0 is not the Wrangler EV that Jeep decides to produce, it is becoming very obvious to industry insiders that they have plans for something similar to reach production. Jeep would not be refining and fine-tuning this concept as much as they are if they did not plan on using this technology in the future.

For now, you just have to be patient while watching videos of the Magneto 2.0 in action. Your next course of action if you really want a Wrangler Magneto 2.0 is to contact Jeep and let them know you want one. Sometimes that is exactly how a concept can reach production but only if enough people are interested.

One thing is very clear at this point. Jeep continues their domination in the 4×4 segment with the Magneto 2.0, even in the age of the EV. What will they think of next?
