Fourteen years ago this March, Lagunitas got busted. The California ABC ran an undercover sting and, based on what they saw (too much fun, too much beer, weed), they deemed the brewpub a “disorderly house” slapping the establishment with a suspension.
The brewery’s commemorative, limited release beer, the Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale is fittingly very bitter and packs an unrepentant 9.6% ABV.
