Land Rover has recently announced its plans to jump on the green bandwagon, unveiling an electric version of their popular Defender SUV at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. While only a research vehicle with no immediate plans for production, the Electric Defender would sport a 330Nm motor powered by a 300 volt lithium-ion battery tucked away in the vehicle’s trunk. With all of the monster off-road prowess of the original Defender coupled with absolutely zero emissions, the Electric Defender could help bridge the interface of the green movement and the fuel-guzzling, off-road lifestyle.
