Lightning Strike Electric Motorcycle

Published By

The name Lightning Motorcycles might sound familiar. Back in 2013 their bike beat out every gas-powered bike at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Colorado. Since then, they focused on their flagship offering, the LS-218 sportbike. And now they’ve announced the launch of Lightning Strike, a street-focused all-electric motorcycle that starts under $13k and has improved aerodynamics to get max range out of the motors.

Three options will be available, the lowest priced standard edition gives you 90 horsepower, 180 foot-pounds of torque, and a 10 kilowatt battery with a 70 mile highway and 100 mile city range. The mid-range Strike offers the same in terms of hp and torque, but with a 15 kilowatt battery, the range is upped to 105 and 150 miles.

Their premiere offering will run you around $20k. The Carbon Edition has all carbon fibre bodywork and top-level components like Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes and a Strada racing dash from AiM. The motor puts out thirty extra horsepower over the other two and carries a 20 kilowatt battery for a range of up to 200 miles. The bikes will begin shipping this July (with Carbon Edition customers getting first deliveries) and reservations are still open. – Shop Now
