Longines Ultra-Chron Dive Watch

Published By

Longines returns to the high-beat movement game, going in hard. The Ultra-Chron Dive Watch, in a veritable one-up, is equipped with an “Ultra Chronometer.” Typically, COSC tests would-be Chronometer movements for accuracy, performance under pressure, and so on before putting it in the watch case. For the Ultra-Chron, Caliber L836 is tested when it’s already inside, ensuring it’s unaffected by any of the manufacturing processes that come after encasement.

Based on a 1968 design, this watch manages to pull off a retro-futuristic look, as well as a polished and relevant modernity. The cushion case features a premature break to the sides, showcasing both the brushed top and shiny skirting from an aerial view. The textured dial brings balance to the surface’s overall high-glisten aesthetic. It’s both new and historical, sporty and swanky.
