As Nissan enthusiasts already know, NISMO is the high-performance division of the very respected Japanese automaker. When NISMO decides to tinker with cars or trucks from Nissan, those parts or vehicles become very desirable. Cue the Nissan NISMO Off Road Frontier V8 Concept, a truck after the hearts of performance enthusiasts everywhere.
This is a new Frontier for Nissan trucks because it enables owners to customize or modify their rides without sacrificing their warranty. In fact, Nissan is even going to offer up to a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty for NISMO parts installed on the Frontier outside of the factory warranty window for the truck.
Some of the NISMO equipment available for the latest generation of the Frontier pickup include 18 by 9-inch off road wheels, rock rails, and a custom NISMO front bumper. There will be a wide range of parts and accessories available for Nissan trucks from NISMO in the near future.
As for the NISMO Off Road Frontier V8 Concept itself, it features the 5.6L V8 engine you find under the hood of the full-size Nissan Titan truck. The Frontier features a NISMO cold-air intake system and a cat-back exhaust system to give you a little more growl behind your bite.
On top of that, NISMO developed a wide-track suspension system featuring lower control arms, front spindles, wheel hubs, and a rear axle from the Titan. NISMO and Bilstein combine forces to create the coilover and external reservoir shocks.
To make room for the wider track, NISMO developed a wide body kit featuring carbon fiber fenders and matching hood. A custom NISMO front bumper enhances the Frontier’s approach angle and tire clearance.
Other highlights and features on the Nissan NISMO Off Road Frontier V8 Concept include a warn winch, LED lighting, and an in-bed spare wheel. You will also notice a NISMO roof rack and 18-inch mud terrain tires. This truck is literally ready to run at Baja, if you think you have what it takes.
This NISMO Frontier Concept shows what the future holds for off-roading in a Nissan truck. If you can find the dunes, the NISMO Off Road Frontier is both ready and willing.
