The changing seasons — particularly the climbing of the thermostat — all mean one thing: You need to evaluate your beer fridge ASAP (along with your spring and summer wardrobe, naturally). For us, that means reacquainting ourselves with the crisp, light, refreshing taste of a newly iconic lager: The Pacific Wonderland Lager from the famed Deschutes Brewery all the way out in the lovely town of Bend, Oregon.
Although Deschutes consistently crushes it with rich porters and fresh, piney IPAs, it’s the Wonderland Lager we’re really digging for spring and summer at the moment. It’s a session lager that’s elevated by what the brewery calls unexpected ingredients, such as uncommonly citrusy hops and a middle-of-the-road 40 IBUs — nothing too out of the ordinary, yet a welcome and refreshing combination all the same. For long summer afternoons and evenings in the sun, we can think of perhaps no better beer than the Deschutes Pacific Wonderland Lager. – Learn More
