If ever you DJ/fashion guys wanted a piece of gear that combines your two callings, thank your fellow multi-hyphenate, Virgil Abloh, for the Pioneer DDJ-1000-OW DJ Controller. The Louis Vuittion director is also the power behind Off-White, the go-to brand for street-style that gets the fashion-with-a-capital-F treatment. This controller is a limited designer version of Pioneer’s immensely popular DDJ-1000, in collaboration with Off-White. It comes two years after Pioneer and Abloh exhibited the Transparent 2000NXS2 DJ controller at Chicago’s contemporary museum, so DJ/art guys might want to get in on the action too.
The DDJ-1000 features 4-channel performance, and a unique matte white color, accented with a fluorescent orange deck. Checking off a fashion-world social cue, this portable controller is also adorned with beautiful “Off-White” and “Sound Engineering” labels on the side.
