As the first year of the 20s mercifully comes to an end, we got to thinking about the first year of the 90s. Like all years caught between two definitive decades, 1990 was a fascinating amalgam. Big hair, glam, synth, and ballad rock shifting steadily towards the grungier and genre-blurring music to come.
