Shinola Sea Creatures Watch

Published By

When Shinola first launched in Detroit back in 2012, it was the first watch factory to open in the United States in more than 50 years. It didn’t take long before the brand became synonymous with classic design, quality construction, and a favorite of many celebs including former President Bill Clinton, who is often photographed sporting the Runwell — the brand’s flagship watch.

Shinola also believes in protecting the earth’s natural resources, so it makes sense that the case and wavy straps on the brand’s Sea Creatures Watch are crafted using ocean bound plastic, and the dial is inspired by the forms and colors of ocean critters with aquatic textures and details. Powered by a high-accuracy Argonite 715 quartz movement,  the hands and indices glow with blue Super-LumiNova lume, reminiscent of Puerto Rico’s bioluminescent bays. The watch arrives in a pouch made from upcycled airline uniforms that can be used as a travel watch case, miniature crossbody bag, or phone carrier.
