The Campout Cookbook

Campfire cooking is always the best cooking. Eventually, however, the campfire staples grow old. You can only eat so many brats, burgers, and coal-cooked potatoes before you start craving something new. Now, we’d never suggest taking those off the menu entirely, but once you’ve eaten your fill and can’t look at one more hot dog or marshmallow, it’s time to switch it up.

Authors Marnie Hanel and Jan Stevenson, whose previous release, The Picnic, was touted for its ability to turn readers into the “MacGyver of picnics,” are back with The Campout Cookbook. Recipes include meals to make ahead or to cook onsite, including stews, chilis, pizzas, breads, desserts, and the ever-important fireside libations.

Beyond the 75+ recipes, Hanel and Stevenson have also included tips for campers pitching their first tent or their fiftieth, including a packing list, guidance on choosing a campsite, and tips to build the best fire for campout cooking. The Campout Cookbook is available for pre-order and will be released on May 29th — just in time for Father’s Day. – Buy It
