After years of writing and preparation, The Lumineers’ first, self-titled debut album was released on April 3rd of this year, making it into the american Singles Top 40. Their harmonious sound is best described as downhome acoustic folk with a hint of Americana. The core band consists of Wesley Schultz on guitar and lead vocals, Jeremiah Fraites on drums, percussion, mandolin and vocals, and Neyla Pekarek. Schultz and Fraites began writing songs in 2005, and after seven years of open mic nights and dive-bar gigs, their music was finally heard on a massive scale following the release of their first single, “Ho, Hey.” A huge following ensued soon after, resulting in sold out shows on their tour this past spring and summer.
