Timex Deepwater Meridian 300 Titanium HEV Automatic

Published By

Timex has been making some impressive moves in the dive watch category lately, and the Deepwater Meridian 300 Titanium HEV Automatic might be one of its most ambitious efforts yet. It’s a serious mechanical dive watch with the materials, specifications, and rugged construction typically associated with considerably more expensive timepieces.

The 44mm case is crafted from lightweight titanium, giving the watch plenty of presence on the wrist without the heft of a similarly sized stainless steel diver. A helium escape valve adds another layer of functionality for saturation diving, while 300 meters of water resistance makes it more than capable of handling recreational underwater adventures.

Powering the watch is a Japanese Miyota 8215 automatic movement with a 40-hour power reserve. A unidirectional ceramic-inlay bezel, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and screw-down crown provide the essentials expected from a serious diver. This particular version also features a green, fully luminous dial with Nemoto LumiNova SG2200, making it especially easy to read when the lights go out.

A perforated HNBR synthetic rubber strap completes the package, offering comfort and resistance to water, heat, and UV exposure. At $999, it’s a substantial investment for a Timex, but the Deepwater Meridian 300 makes a compelling case for how far the brand has come.
