Only around 36% of the projects started on Kickstarter end up successfully funded. The guys behind this EDC tool, Chadwick Parker and Joe Huang, have had 19 successful projects (out of 23 total), which is something more than a little impressive. And while they could certainly take their company in the VC/investor direction at this point, they prefer the community and connection to backers that Kickstarter offers.
Their latest project takes one of their former successes and improves upon the idea. A multi-tool that features a slide out, stainless steel insert that’s either a camping fork or finger safe (i.e. not sharp) package opener depending on which end you insert. The Slide version of the TPT offers a stronger universal wrench, removable pocket clip and a thicker titanium construction compared to their original TPT. Like the original, the tool accepts hex bits, features a mini pry bar, screwdriver, and bottle opener and is made from grade 5 titanium.
The Slide is taking backers now — and has reached its goal, which means the guys are probably already thinking about project number 24. – $59
