Tudor Pelagos 39

Published By

At first, The Pelagos 39 looks like a classic, versatile, and on-template diver, though one more legitimate than other “classics” since said-template was invented by Rolex. In the case of Tudor divers, it’s more like a family resemblance, the brands being under the same watch group, after all. Still, the Pelagos 39’s light-but-strong titanium construction (grade 2, which is extra durable and corrosion-resistant) and signature snowflake hands are quintessential Tudor. The brand-specific liberties they take results in a watch that’s unique but still timeless.

The Pelagos 39 is just a touch more fun than its brother, the Submariner. The unidirectional titanium bezel features a sunray satin finish in fade-proof ceramic, which subtly gives it more places for light to bounce off of. This is also the case with the dial, clad in modern-looking polygonic indices. And naturally, it’s as efficient inside as it is outside—this watch is powered by a COSC-certified automatic with a 70-hour power reserve.
