Powerful performance, precision engineering, and comfortable luxury always highlight the BMW experience. The 2023 BMW iX M60 EV SUV certainly checks all those boxes. It should, after all, it dons the reputable M badge.
BMW takes it two steps further. They say this new SUV EV combines the best of three worlds, their “i” series, “X” series, and “M” division. This really is the first high-performance SAV, or sports activity vehicle, featuring a fully-electric design from BMW.
Right out of the box you get up to 610 brake-horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque to play with. BMW accomplishes this feat using a combination of two electric motors.
On top of that, the M division designed a special dual-axle air suspension system for the iX M60. This enhances the high-performance driving experience to give the iX that authentic M feel. The end result is a dynamic driving thrill in the form of an emission-free BMW.
Drivers of M vehicles should already be familiar with using the Sport Mode driving setting. This is how you unleash the beast, giving you full access to all 610 horses for your driving pleasure. Keep in mind, unlike traditional internal-combustion engines, the 811 pound-feet of torque is available instantaneously.
When you drop the hammer, this SAV moves. It really moves. All-wheel drive gives you fantastic grip upon launch enabling you to really feel that torque as soon as it hits. You will reach 60 miles per hour in only 3.6 seconds.
A single-speed automatic transmission really makes it easy to drive the iX M60. It is capable of reaching an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph. BMW is targeting a range of 280 miles with select configurations of the iX M60. Obviously your wheel size selection will have some impact on the range.
Seating for five people, including the driver, is provided with four doors to access the interior. Inside you will enjoy the same BMW comfort and convenience you already love. In fact, you can even use voice-activated heated and ventilated seats. There are several convenient features available through voice-activation technology.
Standard features for the 2023 iX M60 EV include M Sport brakes with blue calipers, AC or DC fast charging, and ambient lighting. Other standard features include a Panoramic Sky Lounge LED Roof, a 4-zone automatic climate control system, and wireless device charging.
When you are in a hurry, you will feel comfort in knowing you can go from a 10 percent charge all the way up to 80 percent in just under 40 minutes on a DC fast charger. You will not have to wait much longer than that to check out the 2023 BMW iX M60 either. BMW expects to have a limited supply of them ready to go in June of 2022.
