Cue the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD, this heavy-duty truck is an untamed beast capable of being sophisticated when you need it to be.
For the 2024 model year, Chevy is giving the Silverado line-up an upgraded powertrain, updated styling, and several interior enhancements. On top of that, Chevrolet boosts the customer-focused trailering abilities of the Silverado for the new model year.
Under the hood you will have two different engine options. You can opt for the 6.6L Duramax turbo diesel V8 engine featuring more horsepower and torque. In fact, the popular Duramax engine produces 470 hp with 975 pound-feet of torque right off the lot.
Meanwhile, the standard option is the dependable 6.6L gasoline V8 engine producing 401 hp with 464 pound-feet of torque. An Allison 10-speed automatic transmission is the standard transmission now for both engine options. This transmission provides smaller steps between each gear enabling you to stay within the optimal powerband for longer periods of time.
The Allison 10-speed transmission also enhances the gas engine’s towing capabilities, ensuring every available pound-foot of torque is getting to your wheels. This transmission also enhances the Silverado’s grade braking capabilities. From climbing hills to safely making your way down a mountain road, the 2024 Silverado HD is up to the challenge.
Chevy is offering several different trim levels of the 2024 Silverado HD. You will be able to choose from Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, or High Country configurations. Later on in production, the ZR2 will become available as a Silverado HD for the first time in history.
As always, you will be able to choose between 2500HD and 3500HD configurations. If you want duallys, the 3500HD will be available with dual-rear-wheels and feature a towing capacity of 36,000 pounds. That is some serious haulin’.
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD will be available in Crew Cab, Regular Cab, or Double Cab configurations.
