Brabus 800 Adventure XLP
You may know BRABUS from their wheels, boats, or from their restorations of vintage Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Whether you know who they are yet or not, have you seen their take on the Mercedes-AMG G 63? The BRABUS 800 Adventure XLP is a high-performance pickup boasting impressive off-road capability.
Powering the pickup is a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 with a PowerXtra+ tune, delivering 800 horsepower and 737 lb-ft of torque. This impressive power plant leads to a 0 to 62 miles per hour time of just 4.8 seconds. Not bad for a pickup.
Electronically limited, the top speed maxes out at 130 miles per hour. Part of the reason behind the lower than average top speed limit is because of the high center of gravity and tall 325/55 R22 Pirelli Scorpion all-terrain tires. The engineers also designed a special suspension with portal axles, allowing for a ground clearance of 19.2 inches.
Finished in a ROCKET silver matte special paint, the 800 Adventure XLP has a certain amount of shimmer to the paint, without it being shiny or flashy. The interior features beautiful burned oak BRABUS luxurious leather.
To give the G63 a pickup bed, BRABUS had to make some changes. Part of those changes were extending the wheelbase by 20 inches. Surprisingly, adding a pickup bed to the back did not take away from the spacious cabin of the G-Class.
For a more functional pickup, BRABUS added an optional luggage rack on the roof along with a carbon wind deflector leading to four LED lights mounted in front. A matte double bed bar adds style and is useful for tying down items in the truck bed.
With carbon fiber included inside and out, the Adventure XLP also features carbon fender flares, leading to a wider version of the G63 than stock models offer.
When looking to purchase the BRABUS 800 Adventure XLP, consumers can also decide whether they want the optional Wingcopter drone complete with a truck bed-mounted landing pad. This unmanned aircraft can reach speeds of 150 mph and was specifically designed for delivery of urgent first aid supplies or special equipment over rugged terrain, not meant for driving.
With so many incredible features inside and out, BRABUS went the extra mile when modifying the G63. To learn more about the capabilities of the BRABUS 800 Adventure XLP, head to the BRABUS website.
