We love that middle ground between a tent and RV. Pull-behind camping pods give you an instant and comfortable place to sleep, plus some cooking options and extras. But compared to a fifth wheel, your camping destinations aren’t limited to five-star camp resorts and Walmart parking lots. This offering from BRS out of New South Wales is called the Sherpa. It’s an off-road, hard-shell, pull-behind pod with best-in-class clearance and independent suspension on the two wheels. Behind most trucks, it can handle ninety degree turns and the beefy Goodrich K02’s can handle all roads — or lack thereof.
The main compartment sleeps two on a queen mattress and comes complete with a TV, stereo, and diesel heating. Up top there’s a pop-up tent that can sleep two more. A swing-out awning provides a wide swatch of shade, the better to cook in the fold down kitchen at the back. Two refrigerated drawers keep your food and beer cold, a portable stove handles cooking duty, and a pop-down sink lets you do the dishes afterwards.
Just so you really can take this wherever, BRS includes a 125 amp lithium battery, AC and DC chargers and a 200 watt solar panel — electricity anywhere you see the sun. When a tent isn’t enough and an RV is too much, a go-anywhere Sherpa might be just right. – Shop Now
