Gerber DoubleDown Folding Machete

Yes, owning a machete is cool in its own right. But Gerber’s version goes beyond cool and reaches into brutally useful territory. The USA-made DoubleDown Folding Machete gives you the ability to chop back brush with a jungle-clearing machete swing, but choking up on the handle lets you get in there for precision knife work. Jimping on the spine of the blade offers a grippy surface for batoning the machete and splitting wood.

Measuring a full 15 inches, it’s a beastly knife, with a sharp, 420HC recurve blade. But thanks to a butterfly handle, it’ll fold down to half its size. To protect your most valuable tools (your hands), Gerber developed a patent-pending quad-lock system, where the handle splits and then stops halfway to remind you to move your fingers out of the way before closing the handle around the blade.

The included sheath goes on your belt or attaches to MOLLE straps so you always have your Folding Machete with you. And that means you can solve just about any cutting problem that presents itself in an unassailably cool way.
