Growlerwerks is a company founded and run by Portland, Oregon-based beer enthusiasts who make what you can either call a mini, portable keg, a pressurized growler, or use its official name: uKeg. The newest finish available for both the half gallon and gallon size growlers is matte black. It’ll join the swanky copper-plated, the pragmatic stainless steel, and the Vader-esque black chrome finishes already on offer.
Fill your growler with the fruits of your own brewing labors, or hand it to your local barkeep for your share of the latest sour, pale, or porter. The Growlerwerks uKeg will keep that beer cold, fresh and carbonated for up to two weeks. The double wall, vacuum-insulated stainless steel kegs use readily available (and included) CO2 cartridges and feature a pressure gauge and customizable pull handles.
