Hyperion XP-1 Hypercar

Published By

Hyperion, if you have not heard of them yet, is a California-based company formed by a team of PhDs, consisting of three divisions. All of them focus on hydrogen-based power and delivery. One of those three sectors is Hyperion Motors. Their innovation, the Hyperion XP-1, introduces a hydrogen-powered hypercar capable of doing incredible things.

Boasting an astonishing 1,000 miles of range, the XP-1 operates on all electric power, with zero emissions. Aside from the astounding range it offers, the XP-1 can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under 2.2 seconds. With a top speed pushing upwards of 220 mph, this car’s performance capability is insane.

The Hyperion offers an impressive vehicle on an all-wheel drive platform. Inside the cockpit, the XP-1 is just as spectacular. With a 98-inch curved display, featuring gesture control technology, you might as well be in a spaceship. A 134-inch glass canopy top allows for plenty of natural light to shine into the cockpit.

Hyperion’s V-Wing doors not only give the car an original style and appearance, they draw inspiration from the legendary sculpture, the Winged Victory of Samothrace. You don’t have to know a lot about Greek sculptures to realize the XP-1 is a car like no other.

Hyperion also plans to build refill stations for hydrogen cars to make things easier for drivers. Although, with such a vast range of traveling capacity, they should not need as many stations as some other manufacturers.

The Hyperion XP-1, as awesome as it may be, is not for sale yet. You can register your interest in the vehicle and stay up to date on everything Hyperion-related through their website. After 10 years of working on the XP-1, rumors suggest that the Hyperion is coming in 2022. Stay tuned for a glimpse into the future of hydrogen power.
