Imagine being a name so legendary that you have to reset the bar every time you do anything. That’s the world McLaren operates in, where the pursuit of perfection never sleeps. The McLaren 750S is the latest achievement from the prestigious automaker with championship racing pedigree.

This is a supercar built to exceed the new age of performance benchmarks. The 750S promises more performance, more efficiency, and more technology. It also promises to be more powerful. More, more, more. More of everything. If you are a performance driving enthusiast, the words of Gordon Gecko are already echoing through your mind, “Greed is good”. 

Why did Gordon say that in the ‘80s classic Wall Street? Well, Gecko goes on to say that greed “captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit”. That’s exactly what the McLaren 750S does in every way.

It is lighter, faster, and even comfortable when driving for extended periods of time. The 750S is really just an improved version of the McLaren 720S. McLaren shaved about 66 pounds off the predecessor and added about 30 horsepower, among other changes.

The end result is impressive. A twin-turbo 4.0L flat-plane crank V8 engine pumps out 740 hp with 590 pound-feet of torque and the exhaust note at wide-open throttle makes any gearhead weak in the knees. The mid-engine layout provides excellent supercar driving dynamics.

A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sends all that power to the rear wheels. If you ever want to experience going from zero to 60 miles per hour in only 2.7 seconds, the 750S can show you what it feels like. Keep going if you want to reach a top speed of 206 mph.

Even though this is a street-legal supercar, it really is optimized for a track experience. With that being said, the interior is luxurious, complete with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and Apple CarPlay. There is even ambient lighting if you want to set the mood for your next joyride.

Don’t want to scrape that low front lip on angled driveways? No problem. The 750S features a front-axle-lift system that can raise the nose of the car in only four seconds. You can even get a clear panel so you can see the engine from the cockpit. 

If you are looking for a supercar that checks all the boxes, the 750S fits the bill. It is available as a coupe or as an open-air Spider. The coupe starts at $331,740 while the 750S Spider starts at $352,740. Deliveries are expected in the third quarter of 2023. In the end, you really can’t go wrong with the 750S if you’re in the market for a six-figure supertoy.
