Old Forester 2019 Birthday Bourbon

Published By

Old Forester has a long tradition of crafting world-class bourbon, starting with the company’s founding in 1870 by George Garvin Brown.  It was the first distiller to sell bourbon in sealed glass bottles for quality and Old Forester continued production through prohibition thanks to a federal license to create products for “medicinal purposes”.  Brilliant.

Today, Old Forester continues to observe high standards for small batch production, including with their limited edition Birthday Bourbon, first released in 2002 to celebrate the 156th birthday of the founder.  The 2019 batch includes 120 barrels distilled in May of 2008 and aged 11 years to produce a 105-proof liquor the amber hue of raw honey.

Punctuated by notes of maple and caramel paired with oak spice and blackcurrant, not to mention honey and pepper aftertaste, this is one liquor bourbon lovers won’t want to miss.
