Pagani Huayra R Hypercar

Legendary supercar builder Pagani is building one final version of the Huayra, but they are only making 30 of them. The bespoke Pagani Huayra R Hypercar is exclusively for use on the track, where a car like this can truly shine.

At the heart of its performance is a screaming naturally aspirated V12 engine. This 6.0L V12 engine rips all the way up to 9,000 rpm like a legion offering a harmonious roar of combustible power. Without any forced induction, it achieves a divine 850 horsepower with 750 Nm of torque.

Tipping the scales just under 2,315 pounds at 1,050 kg, the Huayra R backs up its hypercar reputation. Although AMG built the engines for previous Huayra models, the R gets the blessing of the actual Mercedes-Benz racing subsidiary, HWA AG. To say this engine is special would be an understatement, putting it in a precision-engineered Pagani racing chassis is only adding fuel to the fire.

In other words, driving enthusiasts all around the world want a taste of the Huayra R, but only a few will ever even get to sniff the fumes. Sometimes there just isn’t enough fine wine to go around, which only makes select bottles more desirable.

Of course, when you build a car this powerful, safety becomes very important. Pagani and their team engineered everything down to the materials with careful calculations for safety. Even the roll bar structure meets strict FIA requirements for GT vehicles.

At the core of the blueprint is a heavy-duty safety cage design built into the central monocoque design. Now that’s some heavy metal, although the car itself is actually quite lightweight and aerodynamic.

In fact, Pagani engineered every surface area of the Huayra R’s bodywork to produce maximum aerodynamic efficiency. This also improves the car’s overall stability at higher speeds. Pagani is always on the cutting edge of suspension design and performance. The Huayra R only further solidifies their reputation for extreme handling performance.

It even uses refined elasto-kinematics to ensure each individual tire achieves ideal grip in each situation. This kind of advanced technology goes far beyond the already impressive independent double wishbone suspension with electronically controlled active shock absorption. Which, of course, the Huayra R also has.

Pagani represents the passion of performance and the Huayra R is the pinnacle of their obsession. This is not the end of the line for Pagani, it is only the beginning of what is yet to come from them. It is, however, the final version of the Huayra R.

In the end, the Pagani Huayra R Hypercar provides a glimpse of future models from the Italian automaker. It also just so happens to be one of the most incredible cars on the planet right now and it will be for some time.

If you show up at the track with one of these, chances are you will be taking the checkered flag home. Assuming, of course, that you can handle this much raw power. There is only one way to find out, you have to hop in the driver’s seat.
