It’s a clever move on the crown’s part, since so many collectors go for used Rolexes over new ones, whether that’s due to ease of access, (sometimes) better pricing, or, to use an auction house buzzword, the provenance of the piece. Still, even places like Christie’s can’t compete with the legitimacy of getting a watch straight from the brand.
Of course, Rolex combines practicality with ceremony in this program. Each watch comes with a Pre-Owned seal, a sign of authenticity and a symbol of status, and is presented in a fancy pouch with an individual guarantee card.
