Serica 8315 GMT Chronomètre

Published By

Call it French design sensibilities, but Serica managed to take a classic GMT template, make it more understated than the standard, and somehow come out the other end with an even more distinct and style-forward tool watch. Unlike, say, a Pepsi color scheme, the 8315 GMT Chronomètre uses only neutral tones, but the black-and-white bezel provides a classy yet eye-catching contrast.

From there, you’ve got muted dial accents, including in the uniquely center-placed hour indices. The real disruptor here is the lollipop GMT, a wildly out-there design that, somehow, doesn’t look out-there on this dial.

Functionally, the 8315 checks all of the boxes, including, and especially, the most important ones. It’s outfitted with Swiss Superluminova and a double-domed, AR-coated sapphire, and it’s powered by a 23-jewel automatic that’s super high-frequency. As its name suggests, the GMT Chronomètre is COSC-certified for the utmost accuracy and condition-resistance.
