Shiner 1909 Heritage Lager

Published By

As the story goes, brewery founder Kosmos Spoetzl would travel out to nearby farms in Shiner, Texas and leave a cold bottle of Shiner beer on fence posts for tired farmers to enjoy after a long day of work. Unsurprisingly, the tactic built a willing fan base. More than a century later, Shiner beer is one of the largest independent craft breweries in the US and it’s all still brewed in the small town of Shiner.

Shiner was officially founded in 1909 and their newest beer, Shiner 1909 Heritage Lager is made with their proprietary lager yeast, noble hops, barley, and artesian well water from the aquifers beneath Shiner. Unlike their flagship Shiner Bock, 1909 is a lighter lager but it still carries notes of a rich and toasted malt. The finish is crisp, with the ability to refresh even the most exhausted among us, whether or not you’ve been toiling in the fields under the hot Texas sun.
