Solento Organic Tequila

What’s an ideal mid-life career move for a surf filmmaker? In the case of Taylor Steele, it’s founding a tequila brand. While hurtling along at the break-neck, never-off-duty pace we all are these days, someone stuck a glass of sipping tequila in Taylor’s hand and said, “Try this.” The world slowed down around him as he took a dang minute to stop and enjoy the agave goodness in his hand. The idea for Solento Organic Tequila was born.

The first step was seeking out certified organic agave from a single estate in Amatitán, Jalisco in Mexico. There, the agave hearts are cooked, pressed, fermented, and distilled to create a premium, small-batch sipping tequila. For the añejo versions, aging happens in American oak barrels.

The final step in Solento’s journey was creating something worthy of housing the smooth creations. Drawing on mid-century design and stepping away from the typical branding that goes along with your average tequila, they created a bottle that’s more Chanel No. 5 than Jose Cuervo. Now it’s your turn. Pick up a bottle, pour a glass, and disconnect long enough to enjoy a sip.
