Steve McQueen’s Malibu Beach House

Published By

A $12 million dollar property in Malibu doesn’t go without ownership for long, so technically this could be called Ernie and Samantha DeBoomkart’s Malibu Beach House (or whoever the current owners are). But the fact that Steve McQueen lived here in the ‘70s (with the still-lovely Ali MacGraw) that pretty much makes it Steve McQueen’s house.

In addition to its history (including the fact that it set McQueen and neighbor Keith Moon on a bizarre collision course) the house is drop-dead stunning. It’s got wide open views of the Pacific from the floor-to-ceiling windows, and beachy casual vibes from the wood plank floors, pitched shingled roof, and clean white interiors.

On the lower level, you have a chef’s kitchen where it might be tough to get a meal completed because you’ll just be staring out the sliding glass door that leads down to the limitless blue of the ocean.

On the main level, a vaulted-ceiling living room is open to staircases and railings that provide glimpses into other parts of the house and opens to a large, upper level deck. The bedrooms take up residence on every level of the house for privacy and variation. Four guest bedrooms mean you can share the bounty with your luckiest friends. The primary bedroom has an ensuite bath and its own private balcony.

The home has a staircase leading right down to the beach — one that comes complete with its own surf break just a little ways out. All you’ll need to bring to this Malibu beauty is your surfboard — and of course a check for $12.2 mill.
