Many great accomplishments begin with setting goals. With the 2021 Hennessey Venom F5, there was only one goal in mind, build the “absolute fastest road car on earth”. Already dubbed as America’s Hypercar, the new Venom F5 is the newest snakebite from Hennessey’s masterminds.
To go fast efficiently, you want to reduce aerodynamic drag. If you are building a hypercar from the ground-up to go fast, you might as well begin by designing everything to reduce drag. Hennessey and their team designed the chassis and the carbon fiber body to achieve this goal. Their focus remained laser-sharp on aerodynamic tuning to create the lowest possible drag on the F5.
Even though the aerodynamic sculpting of the exterior is functional while supporting the overall goal, this hypercar looks like it is fast even when it is not moving. Of course, it will not take long for you to discover how fast this car really is.
Fire up the twin-turbo 6.6L V8 engine to hear the roar of 1,817 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. That is not a typo, the 2021 Hennessey Venom F5 really puts you in the driver’s seat of over 1,800 horses stampeding from the rear wheels.
Considering the quality of suspension parts in this car, to say it has outstanding handling capability is an understatement. Despite the outrageous power, this hypercar is not limited to straight-line runs, it can pull some serious lateral force around corners.
Okay, but is the all-new F5 the fastest road car on earth? So far, the numbers suggest the claim may be true. Weighing in at a feather-light 2,998 pounds (1,360 kg), the F5 puts out an impressive 1.34 hp per kg, the highest of any road car available today.
Even the 277 hp per engine liter stat is impressive. Until somebody proves them wrong, this is not only America’s Hypercar, this is an unstoppable freak of engineering. Their next goal?
