Toyota Tacoma Overlanding Concept

Published By

Toyota is a global leader in designing 4x4s durable enough to challenge nearly any terrain. Everyone in the industry was expecting good things from Toyota’s partnership with Cruiser Outfitters when they set out to build an overlanding beast. The Toyota Tacoma Overlanding Concept definitely delivers, but you might want to get out of its way.

Taking on the “Go Anywhere Now” attitude is easy in the Toyota Overlanding Concept. They began with a Tacoma SR5 pickup and started exploring modifications that make sense from both a performance and practical point of view.

You’ll notice the big stance right away, matching the Tacoma Concept’s aggressive styling. An Old Man Emu BP-51 suspension system jacks the Tacoma up with a 3-inch lift. This adjustable suspension system features internal bypass shocks including external reservoirs holding additional fluid for rougher off-road terrain.

There are also Old Man Emu control arms up front and Dakar leaf springs in the back to round out a very capable off-road suspension package. The 285/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires will handle the rest.

Need more visibility for the foggy trail ahead? Simply flip the ARB Summit Combo Bar with fog lights into action and get ready to roll. ARB Intensity Solis front lights, Rigid Radiance Scene LED light pods in the rear bumper, and an ARB LED roof rack light bar provide plenty of lighting whenever you need it.

There is even a Warn Zeon 10-S Platinum winch to help you out in a pinch. Should you need to tread uncharted waters, the ARB Safari 4×4 Snorkel raised air intake system will keep your engine’s air supply unobstructed.

The Toyota Tacoma Overlanding Concept is a lifestyle vehicle which is why the Mule Size Mid-Size MAP and Baki Rack System comes in handy. You have plenty of room to bring your gear along on every adventure.

Want to keep something chilled? No problem, thanks to the ARB Outback Solutions dual drawer system with a fridge. You’ll find the ARB 63-quart Zero Dual Zone fridge freezer ready to chill anytime.

Obviously you need to make sure you have plenty of air left in your tires after some spirited off-roading. That’s why Toyota includes an ARB twin air compressor for your convenience.

After your safari winds down, you’re going to need to catch some shut-eye. Might as well retire to your Yakima rooftop tent on top of the pickup concept to call it a night.

Don’t worry. You’ll never be able to leave home without it. In fact, the new Tacoma Concept could just as easily be your home away from home.
